Service benefits

A total of 11 different Reference Uses Cases (RUCs) have been tested in the Deployment Sites with more than 20 different services (as you can read in Local Results). The services cover every of the domains (physical, social and cognitive) for a successful ageing. In this sense, service benefits have been measured as the impact of these AHA-IoT services in the different quality of life categories: quality of life, social isolation, and physical activity.

The impact was estimated using the outcomes of the questionnaires SPQ and EQ-5D-3L as it is explained in ACTIVAGE protocol, on the three mentioned categories and compared with the IoT technologies acceptance at baseline and at 12 months.

Quality of Life

If we attend to the results of the EQ-5D-3L, only RUC2 Integrated Care has significant improvement in the QoL, therefore, in others we can observe positive outcomes:

When considering the SPQ, better results are observed in RUC6 Cognitive stimulation, and analysis suggest a significant increase in the self-perceived quality of life in the following RUCs:

* Only RUC6 Cognitive stimulation has significant statistical significance

Social Quality of Life

When considering societal score, results suggest there are four RUCs with positive impact on the social quality of life.

* Only RUC2 Integrated care has significant statistical significance

Physical Quality of Life

Physical activity has positive outcomes in 5 RUCs, especially important in RUC9 Mobility monitoring and advice for active mobility:

* Only RUC9 Mobility monitoring and advice for active mobility has significant statistical significance
